Diabetes Education

Do you know someone who suffers from diabetes?  Maybe you, or someone in your family, struggles with diabetes and management.

 Did you know that in 2012, 29.1 million Americans had diabetes and 86 million Americans age 20 and older had prediabetes?  Interested to know the total costs of diagnosed diabetes - $245 billion. These are staggering numbers, and nearly every person you know has been affected by diabetes in some form.  

 If you, or someone you know, has been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes Type 1 or Type 2, you should always work with your health care provider and registered dietician on developing a management plan.  Health care providers and dieticians can help you set an "action plan" for exercise, healthy eating choices, and medication, if necessary, to control your diabetes.  Talk to your health care provider and stay in control!
